We’re so excited to have you join us on our journey to inspire young people with exciting hands-on STEM activities! But, just before we get to all the fun stuff, we need to make sure that we are doing all we can to create a safe environment for you and the people we engage with. Whether you are visiting schools in person or delivering sessions online, and whether you have worked with young people before or this is your first time, it is really important to know what safeguarding is and understand your responsibilities as a STEMAZING Role Model. This training will cover: - An introduction to safeguarding, what it is, and why we need it. - Who is responsible for safeguarding. - The STEMAZING safeguarding policy and its key points. - What to do if a child makes a disclosure. - The do's and don'ts for Role Models. - Positives and negatives related to data sharing and images. - Useful links and further reading. After this you will complete a short quiz based on the elements covered in the training.
